1. Dripping When Off

If the unit is leaking from the handle, dripping from the spout or making noise when the faucet is turned on or off, you would need to replace the cartridge assembly (974-074) as well as the retainer ring (962-075)

Click here if you need to match your cartridge(s) or if would like to see all cartridge types we have.

2. Loose/Stiff Handle
If the handle becomes loose, hard or stiff to operate replace the cartridge assembly (974-074) as well as the retainer ring (962-075).

3. Diverter Connection:
Please view the following video for step by step instructions on how to remove a diverter tee connection for the Pfister 26 Series faucet.

4. Low Flow:

Federal guidelines mandate that all lavatory and kitchen faucets and aerators manufactured after January 1, 1994, must use no more than 2.2 gpm, showerheads must use no more than 2.5 gpm.

If there is water restriction or no pressure in water flow, please check for the following:

Step I:
Make sure water supply is turned on fully.
Step II: Check the aerator for any debris that may have collected during repair or installation.
Step III: Make sure supply lines are flushed and there are no kinks in hoses.

Disconnect the diverter and place a bucket under the hose for water collection. Slowly lift the handle to your faucet and see if water comes out of the hose and into the bucket. If water comes out, then the diverter must be replaced. The diverter must be replaced with either (951-029 - metal or 951-039 - plastic) diverter. Diverter piston or spring becomes stuck and doesn't allow full flow to spout or spray or no flow at all. This maybe caused by sediment (in older units) or debris lodged in the diverter valve that may have traveled through water supply during repair or installation.NOTE: Diverter must be replaced with the original diverter that the faucet came equipped with. Diverter’s are NOT interchangeable.

If after disconnecting the hose from the control body to the diverter, and water does not come out of the hose when the faucet is turned on, you would need to replace the cartridge assembly for Marielle, Treviso & Ashfield; (974-035) as well as the retainer ring (941-711); for Avalon you would need to replace the cartridge assembly (974-074) as well as the retainer ring (962-075).

5. How to clean Diverter:

If there is a problem with diverting the water from sprayer to the spout or vice-versa, we recommend cleaning the diverter tee first. If there is no change,  then replacing the sprayer along with the diverter ( 951-029 - metal or  951-039 - plastic) may be necessary.

6. Leaking Side-Spray:
If your side sprayer leaks through a crack, the seam, is visibly broken or will not shut off at all, you will need to replace the side sprayer; 7. Soap Dispenser:

If the soap dispenser is leaking, not pumping any soap, or is pumping from somewhere other than the tip, we recommend replacing the pump mechanism (931-002). If the bottle on your soap dispenser has broken, you can replace it with (950-004).

8. Install Faucet Without Side Spray:

You can install your faucet with no side sprayer. To do this you will need to order adaptor (970-037) if you have the plastic diverter tee (951-039). If you have the metal diverter tee (951-029) you don't need an adaptor at all. You simply eliminate the use of the diverter tee and connect the control body outlet line directly to the spout body supply tube

9. Accessory Adaptor for Spout:

We have an adapter available for connecting a dishwasher or a water filter to the faucet:

  • (970-004) metal female-male adaptor (3/4" x 27 threads per inch)
10. Refill Soap Dispenser:
Remove dispenser head by pulling up on it. Pump mechanism should remove with dispenser head. If not, carefully remove pump mechanism by pulling it out of dispenser shank. Pour liquid soap into dispenser shank until bottle reaches 3/4 capacity. Insert pump mechanism into dispenser shank. Install dispenser head by pushing firmly onto pump mechanism.
